Like Alien Technology
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Mavic is revolutionary. The combination of size, price, and capability is simply amazing. The camera and gimbal are very good and the video and photos are fine for all but professional videographers. I personally shoot in 1080p 30fps (note the sensor used does not do a good job with 1080p 60fps) as I don't want to deal with huge 4K files for my use. In fact, you can download the movies (1080 The range is unbelievable and the video downlink is much clearer than any DJI drone to date (same as p4pro). If you have a spotter, or don't care to follow the guidelines, using the litchi app with a pair of $20 VR googles is the way to go. No need to wait or pay for the long delayed DJI occusync googles, the litchi app is $23 and also gives you much better waypoint capabilities than DJI go app. Nothing available today even comes close to DJI Mavic at any price, save for

Excellent reliable drone!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked this up just about 1 year ago and with 363 flights and a little over 350K miles flown, I can safely say this is an extremely fun, reliable drone. I have not had any major issues or a single crash with the Mavic Pro, just a brief communication issue between drone and controller twice - and when this happened, the drone automatically "returned to home / take off point" like it's supposed to. The 3 batteries that came with the "Fly More' package still holds a great charge after a year, I may have lost about 1-2 minutes on these batteries, but I do know this is normal with these rechargeable Lithium batteries. I did take this on a "distance test" late last Summer in NJ, nice large field, farmland - away from any interference of the city. I did not get to push this to the 4.3 mile advertised max test, but was able to get 2.1 miles before deciding to turn around. I admit, this is by far the farthest I have flown and was a bit nervous - but I had no problem, no loss of video on the controller! Also 2.1 miles is far more than I need. I just like to keep the drone in my line of sight at all times. The camera is decent, it takes great shots in daytime conditions - nighttime, in very low light situations, well...not so much. RAW photo mode is great for me. The Panorama photos are fun (I do use a small program called "Hugin" to stitch these into a super large seamless 360º photo) I've tried the Live stream for YouTube and Facebook Live, it's not too bad, not perfect however. I've has some lag, pixelation of video when streaming so I don't really use this feature. The one thing I read before buying the Mavic Pro is a potential annoyance of DJI's constant updates. Yes, this is true. There are times I've taken the drone out, ready to take flight, open the app and prompted with a update. A few I could ignore, but a few I had to update before I could fly. And if you are not on a Wifi at the time, an update can take a while to download, install..and it's taking up your battery life on the drone, a bit deflating. My advise, before you leave the home, charge up the drone, controller, app to see if any updates are available. I've had a different drone, brand name a few years ago. Sadly, I was just never happy with the performance of that drone, especially after it's final bug-filled firmware before the company moved on and put all it's focus on it's newer drone model. But this DJI, overall I've been very happy with this drone. I am waiting for the Mavic 2 to drop in price just a bit - may take a while though. I will upgrade to that since the the camera on that newer Mavic 2 is just impressive.

Great drone for beginners!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first drone. It's so easy to fly even my 9yr old can do it. It can literally fly itself. Beyond that, the camera and gimbal quality are amazing. Video is stunning. The default camera settings work great and there are tons of options to customize depending on the lighting and quality you are looking for. Battery life averages 25 minutes. Drone returns to home automatically when battery reaches 20%. I've owned the drone for about 3 weeks and still haven't experimented with all the smart modes. My favorite so far is active track where the drone locks on to you and follows you. You can activate this with hand/arm gestures or with remote.

Best toy EVER
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, this is my second DJI product. The first was a Phantom 3 Standard...and it was amazing. After wanting more range and better portability I stepped up to the Mavic Pro and am so glad I did!!! This thing is absolutely amazing. So easy to fly, amazing footage, so small that it will fit in my carry-on or in the tour-pak of my Harley. Simply the best drone I have ever seen. The GoPro Karma killer!!!

Solid drone for first time flyers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall very impressed with its capabilities, stability, and video/camera definition. After a short quiz, and agreeing to terms and conditions, the controller and app unlocks, enabling flight mode. With a simple push of joysticks, the drone was up in the air. Commandeering it was relatively straightforward and very responsive to throttle. The information presented on the remote and DJI app can be overwhelming at first, but knowing what each set of numbers represent makes flight that much more meaningful (from drone speed, distance, camera exposure, drone and remote battery levels, etc). The reviews I read prior to purchasing this drone were pretty spot-on, and like many others who have flown this drone before, the DJI Mavik Pro did not disappoint. Of course there are flaws (eg. inability to sense obstacles directly on top, to the sides, and behind, inability to fly in the rain, extremes of temperatures, delicate gimbal mechanism), but they are far outweighed by its pros (incredible flight range of a few miles, high definition photos and videos, multiple ways of tracking moving subjects, solid feel and looks, portability, ease of use, live streaming, cinematic modes and first person views, the list goes on). Definitely on the pricier end, but well worth the price for taking photography to another level in more ways than one ;)

Awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In my opinion this drone is the only way to go. This is my second one and second review on this drone. DJI did a fantastic job on this one. The Mavic Pro is easy to fly, hard to crash, and the picture quality is insane. I recommend this drone over the more expensive phantom 4 pro because it’s very portable and does essentially the same thing. I purchased this drone to take pictures of my work in order to show future clients. I have attached a screen shot of one of my first videos. This was the first time ever flying a drone or videoing with a drone. It’s just so simple.

Beginner or expert. DOESN'T MATTER
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this drone. At first I wasn't really interested in the idea of owning a drone because what would I use it for? It is just another toy that Inwould buy on impulse, use for a week and then shelf it. I have to say though that even with my beginner flying skill, and partial lack of creativity, the ability to use it for a photo, or an easy flyover movie is appealing and fun. Photo and video quality are superb and the fact that it is the size of a sneaker when the wings are folded is a huge plus. Portable and powerful. Everyone should have one!

Ecellent value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely stable, continually improved by updates, rock solid video, extreme long range. I have built quads before and had four times the money in them with less than half the performance of the mavic. The video transmission is a new technology called ocusync and it works really well. Video is really stable and up to 4k. Handles wind well even though it is light. It just got a new fixed wing flying mode added that is cool and should work well with the goggles when they are released.

Q: Questioncan i bring the packed drone when boarding a flight?
Asked by miru.
- A:Answer Yes, you should remove the battery from the Mavic and place it and your other spare batteries each in a lipo safe battery bag. I put data stickers on each battery and bag identifying the voltage and milliamperes indicating that the batteries are under 100wh each and safe to be carried on the airline and not in checked baggage. I do inform TSA that I have acceptable low wattage lithium batteries in protective battery bags with taped connector tabs in my carry on bag or case. I have not have my batteries denied for airline carry on travel in the USA on 8 flights in the last year.

Q: Questionwill an Iphone fit in the controller while using a Lifeproof case?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer No. I have the otter box commuter and have to take the car off. Your better off buying a iPad mini. I had a iPad min 2 that I use for the mavic.

Q: QuestionDoes a battery come with the regular Mavic Pro? Not referring to the "Fly More" package, just the regular $999.00
Asked by Tivojo.
- A:Answer Yes, the basic package comes with the controller, one battery, battery charger and Mavic Pro... the fly more combo is the one with extra batteries, carry case etc...

Q: QuestionIf the DJI flies beyond 1000 feet from the operator, what happens? Does is automatically come back?
Asked by Danny.
- A:Answer You can configure the range of distance in the return home feature to whatever you want the max distance to be. The Mavic pro can fly much further than 1000' from the controller/operator. If the drone loses signal during flight, it can automatically return to the point of take off.

Q: Questiondoes it float, what if I am flying over water, Can it crash and I lose it?
Asked by patti.
- A:Answer Buy it, then goto a State Farm insurance agent (not valid in CA). Tell them you want a Drone policy. Will cost $30 for a year, covers EVERYTHING, just bring your receipt. You dont need to have any other policy with them.

Q: QuestionIs it easy to fly
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes it is fairly easy to fly - but I strongly recommend watching several YouTube videos on how to prepare your drone for the first flight, how to fly the drone (with the controller) and how to update the software before flying your drone for the first time!
